I've installed windows xp and it removed lilo from mbr. What is the easiest way to fix back lnx (and have XP simultaniously)

Status: Solved, thanx everyone! :)

Use your first install cd and type linux rescue at the prompt.

If you're not familiar with your distro's rescue proceedure, check their support site for rescue instructions.

Once you are in your system, run /sbin/lilo (assuming /etc/lilo.conf is correct).

Thanx.
That's what i expected to hear, but there is another complication - can i rescue slackware(latest) distro with debian(latest) cd, in the same manner ? I mean there is not much to rescue - just to the /sbin/lilo thingie and walla...

So, can i do that, or must i burn yet another slackware cd (the dog ate the first one - along with all the homework :) )

I would think any rescue would work.

I use either my Gentoo Live Unreal Tournament 2003 CD for rescue or my Tom's Root & Boot (http://www.toms.net/rb) floppy, whatever I find first.

hehe I have almost as many ways to rescue my system as I have to crash it. I even have a tomsrtbt image on a bootable CD with my entire /bin, /usr/bin, /sbin, /usr/sbin and a few other essential's.

As you can tell I'm a frequent crasher.

Hmm.. I found a few more CDs in my stack.

The LinuxCare BBC (http://www.linuxcare.com/bootable_cd/)

Linux Bootable Business Card (http://www.lnx-bbc.org/)

knoppix (http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/sources/)

I can crash 3 computers, so I have stuff within reach of each box. :D

The floppy you can keep in your shirt pocket.

Set up your system to dual boot useing the NT loader and you won't have this problem in the future.
I use this to triple boot with XP's loader.
