xconsole and KDE3

Hi,
I have downloaded and installed KDE 3. Then, I uninstalled kde 2.
But now at startup, it opens a console called xconsole in stead of KDE 3.
How can I solve this problem?

Uh-oh... You may have uninstalled kdm etc. when you uninstalled KDE2.

Try

startx

to see if X is still working. ctrl-alt-backspace to exit X.

startkde
or
kdm

to see if KDE will start.

Personally I would have either left KDE2 installed or uninstalled KDE2 before installing KDE3.

try forcing a re-install of KDE3.. rpm --install --force I believe.. rpm --help to find out for sure ;) This should override its protests that the package is already installed and update any missing files that may have been deleted when uninstalling KDE2.x
