Hi,

I am really new to Linux. I just installed Red Hat 8.0. Is there anyway to create shortcuts to lauch apps from either the desktop of control panel. Like I used to be able to do from windows. I want to get way from windows, but other people in my house will never be able to figure it out.

Regards,
Navin

If you can find the app that you want to link to in the file manager, you can drag-and-drop it to either the desktop or panel. When you release the mouse button, it will give you three choices: copy, move, or link. Select link.

Or, you can right-click, create new, link to application. In the General tab, give it a name. In the Execute tab, you can click the browse button and find the app.
