I'm unable to make up my mind... :p carrja99 10-05-2002, 10:40 PM I like KDE alot better... I find it the most visually appealing, and there's tons of styles and themes you can install for it. shadowrider 10-06-2002, 12:26 AM i personally on the other hand like gnome the best. it does what it's supposed to without having to much of the theme thing...in some way, it's more simple (maybe not too much) but just feel comfortable with it :p Q3_Slack3r 10-06-2002, 12:52 AM I'm a big KDE fan ... it looks great ... feels great it's just great ... with the right theme of course :) scruff 10-06-2002, 02:33 AM Try using each one for a week or 2 straight. You'll know which one you prefer after that. I used each for a week and chose gnome. KDE is pretty, but seemed a little sluggish (even with 384MB ram), buggy, and I didn't like the way the mouse cursor moved even after countless adjustments. Gnome seems more responsive to me, and is still way customizable. novafluxx 10-06-2002, 06:42 AM This is like...the age old question... I say...if you know what you are doing and can do it...just use a window manager...heh mdwatts 10-06-2002, 09:09 AM Have a search in this forum as the same question has been asked many, many times. Why not benefit from the previous opinions? :) Aglavalin 10-06-2002, 03:51 PM Definitely one of the largest debates in the linux world. It's just a matter of opinion :) devurandomguy 10-06-2002, 11:36 PM Step 1: install KDE Step 2: try KDE Step 3: install GNOME Step 4: try GNOME Step 5: pick which you prefer justlinux.com
