Im using KDE 3.0. I tried to customize the menu on the Kpanel but when I add a program with MenuEditor it has no effect. When I just change the icon of an existing icon, this works tough ( changing the icon ). I have installed a couple of programs and thus can't get them in my kmenu... Could anybody help me ?

What distro are you using? Some distros e.g. Debian and Mandrake have special setups to maintain the same menu across all desktops and window managers.

I use SuSE, and I also had problems customizing the K menu, it seemed that no matter what changes I try on the k-menu, these just won't show up (could be a bug... I don't know). What I ended up doing was to recreate my own K-menu as a subdirectory of the K-menu, and that sudirectory was the one that I would display in the kicker instead of the normal K-menu. Quite confusing, but that was the only way I was able to see 'my' menu. Of course, that can't be the best way around it.

Is there a dir that is actually the contents of your Kmenu ?

Also how did you change what the Kmenu pointed to.
