I was wondering... does the CVS version of winex support directx the way that paid version does? If it does, thanks, but I also need help compiling the CVS versions (don't worry about it now, if directx doesn't work then forget it.) I really am a serious newbie but I do know my way around computers, I am not afraid to use the "prompt", or manually change config files. (I am a programmer in training).

I will provide error messages and stuff if it turns out that CVS winx is what I need.

BTW... what does CVS stand for anyway? [nonexistant blushing emoticon goes here]

It stands for Concurrent Versions System (http://www.cvshome.org/).

I think it does the directx thing, but I'm not that much of a gamer, so trust the FAQs more than me. :D

Yes, it does support as much of DirectX as the binaries do. What it doesn't support is the copy protection stuff, since for some reason Transgaming won't open-source that. I hope it isn't because of some NDA...

Ok great thanks. Does this mean that i will be able to install my games but none of them will work becasue the copy protection doesn't exist in this version? Is there a workaround (no-cd cracks maybe?)
