OK first off here is what im running

Redhat 7.3
Bind Version 8
Webmin 1.0.0.0
Apache, php, mysql and sendmail.
i have the domain name thedigitaldream.co.uk
i have set the hostname of the server to srv1
all of these services are running on the same server

Now i registered my domain name back in june, 7th to be exact. Well i tried to set up dns to get it to work but i had no luck. so i then chose to use dns forwarding as i couldn't set it up, but i cannot recieve email doing it this way.

I have been searching google nearly everyday, yes everyday, since june the 7th for tutorials on this. All the webmin tutorials i find are incomplete or do not cover all of dns.

So now, i am begging, can someone please help me set up dns, please, if you got webmin, please help me as im really stuck with this

All i want is my domain to load my site, and mail to go to me, its all running on one server.

so can someone please tell me what records i have to create and what i have to type in

please this is really annoying me now, as i have been trying to do this since june.

any help would be really really helpfull

thanx in advance

I want to start off by saying if you can't get bind to work down be so hard on yourself...its a bear. I've seen it bring the best to their knees.

is what your records should look like.

Are you going to do reverse look ups?

hi, thanx for the link, but that shows you how to do it by editting the appropriate files. i dont want to do it that way, i want to be able to do it through webmin control panel

has someone got a webmin, if so, can you send me a screen shot of you address records please

i would be so greatfull

thank you

ok here is what i have done so far

click the links below:

Forward Master Zone (http://www.thedigitaldream.co.uk/screen1.png)
Reverse Master Zone (http://www.thedigitaldream.co.uk/screen2.png)

Would you say these are correct given the information i told you earlier

and the internal server ip is 192.168.0.1 so thats why i used it in the reverse master zone

is that correct

please let me know if what i have done so far is correct as i may as well stop now if it isn't
