My brother installed Mandrake 7.0 CD (download version) onto my computer that has a too small hard drive. I don't know how to remove the Linux partition he put there. I tried the Compaq reinstall CD that came with the system but it only reformats and reinstalls Windows in the FAT32 partition and Mandrake is still there.
I'm really not an advanced enough computer user to handle Linux & I need to use Windows to run the screen reading software that only works in Windows because I'm blind.
I hope that someone here can help me out.
Also, yes when I get ahold of my brother he's dead meat.
Thanks, Carl

Windows 9x and NT do not recognoize the Linux extended partition. If you want to completly remove linux, start the win9x from a boot floppy or cdrom and type

fdisk /mbr

This will totaly clear your hdd's partition table, so you can install Windows to a clean computer.
