Hello

I have just installed the NVIDIA drivers for my GeForce 2 MX 32 Mb ram card. I used the script on the Nvidia download page to get the right drivers. The installation went ok, but when I tried to install the GLX-thing I got the following error msg:

--- WARNING!!
libglx.a
libGLcore.a
libGL.a
libGL.so.1.2.030402
--- The above file(s) possibly belong to a conflicting MESA rpm,
--- or to a previous stale NVIDIA distribution.
--- They have been renamed to xxx.<originalFile>.RPMSAVE to
--- avoid conflicting with the files contained within this
--- package.
--- Please see the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS section of
--- /usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0/README for more details.
1:NVIDIA_GLX ########################################### [100%]

I restarted the x-server and tested to see if it worked despite of the ugly error message. I could run the games Chromium and Tuxracer just fine.

Is the driver installed correctly, or what should I do?

Thanks for the help

That's fine, it's only because some of the Red Hat driver files were overwritten as they use the same name as the nVidia ones.
This makes going back to the Red Hat drivers a little tricky, but who would want to do this anyway...

Thanks for the quick answer man! Maybe I have a future with Linux after all ;-)
