hp scanjet 5200c and suse 8.0

I' ve got a problem making my scanner work with suse 8.0. The installation works so far that Suse recognizes my scanner: usb scanner HP 5200C. Then in the final stadium "Test" appears on my screen. On Test nothing happens. How to make my scanner work with Suse?

Sorry as I neither use SuSE or have a scanner.

Since nobody else has replied, I'll just suggest you try SuSE's online documentation, faq's etc. and also try the main Linux scanner site http://www.mostang.com/sane/ and http://www.linux-usb.org/USB-guide/x722.html

Thank you for thinking with me.I folowed the suggestion of http://www.linux-usb.org/USB-guide/x722.html and made the changes in hp.conf which only contains now the rules:
/dev/usb/scanner0
option connect-device
Result: negative.

I found it strange that the former conf file started with scsi.
Is there someone how can help me further?
