Ok I just changed distros to slack and I got everything working so far except for sound (seems to be a common problem around here :) ). When I start KDE I get an error /dev/dsp (no such device) and sure enough there is no dsp folder in dev at all. I tried to compile and install the ALSA drivers but they wont "make". Is there a way I can create a folder in the dev directory so I can get something working or is the ALSA drivers supposed to do that? Im really stumped on this one

which is why it's very well documented:

Well I think I found the correct driver but when I try to run the makefile I get tons of errors from the kernal source. Maybe the source is nerfed -Im going to try to reinstall it
