I can't seem to get Linux to get on a network. There's a DHCP server, but it wouldn't connect, and now, whenever I try to boot Linux, the system hangs on the line "Trying to configure eth0 by connecting to DHCP server."
I'm using Slackware 8.1, and it does recognize the existence of the network card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Matthew

Ok are you trying to get your cable modem working?

No, it's an Ethernet card to a campus network, but I just sucked it up and reinstalled Linux, and typed in the same information as I did last time.

I am, however, posting this from within a window in KDE. ::shrug:: Dunno what's different, but it's working now.
