If you do a search on "samba" on this site, you'll come up with hundreds of hits. You'll find examples of the simpleist to the most complex Samba configurations.
Search around on samba.org and you'll find some good documentation there.
The Red Hat documentation also has some help on Samba
For a newbie, I think the best thing to do is install and start SWAT(a graphical configuration tool for Samba). Even if you don't use SWAT to configure Samba, the help files that come with it are invaluable and very complete.
Do a search on SWAT here and you'll find lots of hits on it also.
And last, but not least, after you've read and tried and you still can't get it to work(it's not difficult if you do some reading), post your specific questions here.
