I purchased a Nforce motherboard 220 (ASUS) with onboard video. I did so thinking that this unified driver system would be well supported. It appears that this onboard video is not 'compatable.'
I have tried installing Redhat 7.2 and 7.3 to no success. Somebody sent me to a site that listed support of video types to linux and it seemed to suggest that I could only possibly get things up and running if I put certain types of video cards in an AGP slot ie a different Nvidia video card other than the built onboard video.
When I went to the Nvidia Nforce unified drivers for Linux the driver update seemed to be only for LAN and audio not video.
When I get to test the video then there is no display or the computer lockups.
Do I need to get another inexpensive motherboard that has a SIS video chipset? will that work for me?
