Using the CD-Rom to boot - at the graphics screen I enter:

expert/No Driver/English/US/LocalCDROM

and before I get to the mouse selection,
a message at the bottom of the screen says

"wait - running anaconda"

then another messages comes on the screen:

"can't probe for the monitor"

then some more messages come on the screen
then the screen goes black and all freezes.

Any suggestions?

I have a Gateway system with:
- a Pentium 4 at 1700 MHz
- 256 RAM,
- an LCD Gateway FPD1510 screen
- a Logitech USB WheelMouse
- a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 Display Adapter

Thanks for any clues,

this may or may not work but if you have a motherboard that supports raid disable raid in the bios. This seemed to fix a simmular problem that I have had

I have the same problem. Now silly question: how do I disable raid in my BIOS?
