Display problem installing Mandrake 8.2

I tried to install mandrake 8.2 and it got pretty far along. Once it got to I believe the video card drivers part the whole screen got messed up and the text was distorted so i couldn't see anything. I just blindly clicked on a few buttons until it ended up at a blank screen where i was forced to reboot. I tried again from scratch and the same thing happened again at the same spot. So i was unable to finish the installation. PLEASE HELP ME!!

Try skipping the X configuration part. Then once you boot and login you'll be able to configure x.

Use drakxconf and scroll down to Display Configuration and select that. Once you get it working type startx to test it.
