ok.. i am currently running Mandrake linux 8.2 and its awesome!! but....... there are a few things i need to run Windows for... so... i need to make my system dual boot. i am willing to lose all my files since i havent done anything yet... so i can reformat.... there are two main problems though... for some reason my BIOS wont boot from CD anymore (since i installed a CD RW drive..) and my harddrive is rather small... around 3 GB... so... ive heard linux can see windows files if configured correctly... and im wondering what your advice for me is.
thx a bunch ~quark
(btw.. the Windows i will install is Win95... which i have on CD)

Is your cdrw detected and setup in the bios? Can you not select the cdrw to be the first boot device?
Create a 1GB primary partition at the beginning of the drive for Win95 and then install.
Next use Win95 to access your Mandrake cd and create the necessary bootdisks which should be in the dosutils ?? directory.
Boot with the Mandrake bootdisks and then create the required Linux partitions in the remaining 2GB of free space.
Mandrake should detect Windows and add it to the bootloader to allow dualbooting.

Thanks mdwatts! yeah.. not sure why my BIOS isnt detecting the CD drives properly... it lets me select IT as the first boot device... but it only shows 1.. there should be 2.. it may be because i piggybacked it... idk... but as long as i can make a working Windows floppy boot disk i should be OK... once windows is installed it recognizes them properly... hmm.. oh well once i get it set up right it'll work..:D
