I want to install Linux on my machine, but I don't have a working CD burner. Is there a way to install using only floppies and/or files on a Win32/DOS partition?

Are you saying the computer has no cdrom drive at all?

One way is with boot diskettes and the packages on the root of a filesystem. I installed Redhat 6.1 that way.

See the documentation of the specific distros for the method(s) they recommend.

Most distros allow you to do a ftp install. You need to download the boot and modules diskette images, write them to floppies and then boot with those to start the ftp install.

There should be documentation on the distros website/ftp servers to explain the process. There is also a NHF on ftp installation.

You can also download the iso images to your Windows partition and also use the bootdisk images to start the install and then install from the iso images.
