does anyone know if hl voice works yet in linux? Do the $15 transgaming binaries work?

It's been forever (well... at least 5 months) since I've tried it, so I'm wondering also. The Transgaming binaries at the time (their first release, I think -- I managed to get in on the "1st month free" promotional thing they did) didn't do it either (unless I'm confused, which is always a possibility ;) ). I was also wondering if anyone had made any progress on it.

Heh, you must be...Transgaming has been going with their subcriptions and binaries since October last year, not even close to 5 months ago ;)
From what I've been seeing, this doesn't work...I might of heard someone having some luck with the CVS...
Why do you want voice anyway? The only people that use it are 12 year old boys and stoners (I can't count how many people play CS stoned and use voice :rolleyes: )

Looks like I didn't word that very well.
The CVS from 5 months ago didn't work (I haven't tried current CVS, I'm trying to get my gateway to let the internal network browse for games on the external network -- might not even be possible, but oh well, why let that stop me? ;) ). In addition, their very first set of binaries (which were apparently from last October -- it's been longer than I remember, but whatever) also didn't work with voice.
Which, duh, now that I think about it, is probably because HL's voice stuff came out a lot later, after I had unsubscribed. Jeez, I have to work on that memory thing.

Try upgrading to DDR, it's a lot faster and more reliable as I've discovered :D
I'm sure the voice isn't working in the latest binaries (begining of August) because I see so many polls to get this working (usually by the same guy...)
Heck, the source is available for WineX, download it and start hacking :D
