ok here is the problem I am having
I'd really like playing Half-Life on Linux with Wine, but the game simply hangs up, when it reaches the "loading" screen initiating 3D-graphics, map etc. I'd assume that this is an openGL error, but wine libaries are set pretty right linking to my normal libGL and I am having no trouble using my openGL driver on other native linux applications and games (Quake3, UnrealTournament, Xine,Tuxracer).
However, when configuring wine it normally tells me this:
*** Warning: the OpenGL version you have installed relies on libpthread for
*** thread-safety. To prevent crashes, OpenGL support has been removed.
*** A fix for glibc 2.1.3 that seems to work is included in this version of Wine,
*** start configure with '--enable-opengl' to force OpenGL support.
So I forced it to compile with opengl-support which gets me this message:
*** Warning: you explicitly linked in a thread-safe OpenGL version. If you
*** experience unusual crashes on DirectDraw games, try first to disable OpenGL
*** support before reporting bugs.
I simply dont know if openGL support has been configured correctly - and I dont know how to go on solving this, if it hasnt
my graphics board is a Radeon 8500 built by ATi using the fglx200 driver from ATi
