The shared printer (Samsung ML-1210) is connected trough USB on Windows XP server. Printing from windows (from other networked windows workstations) works fine.

However when I try to print from linux the printer lights up, data led is blinking, printer warms up and... than nothing happens.

One thing that I've noticed is that linux print jobs are not queued in the print manager on Windows XP (the server to which Samsung ML1210 is connected).

Any ideas?

You have to patch your ghoscript. You can download the pach from Samsung's website.

If you are lazy you can do it the easy way and donwload the new RedHat (beta) and you'll get it all working with out-of-box settings.

BTW, new redhat rocks. Its still beta1 but I find it extremly stable and had no problems so far. However if you have production system it is not recomended to run beta... (just a small disclamer :-)

Good luck.
