sudden networkcard failure.

I recieve no IP adress

I tried reconfiguring everything I reinstalled the whole system ,but I cant get this to work.
route -r gives no IP adress
lspci lists my card, but dhcpcd eth0 doesnt show a thing.

Is it a defect of my card?

what does ifconfig give you?
Is there eth0 with no ipaddress or no eth0?

There's no IPadress. I tried several other commands wich should be able to find it ,but it won't.

do you have a firewall loaded??

try
/sbin/ifdown eth0
/sbin/ifup eth0

Which distro? and what do you have in the config file for eth0?

I'm sorry. I found out it was just the cable suppliers fault(after they denied it for days), but thank you for the info.:)
