This post is just getting some questions that I have out in the field before I blindly try to get UT running.
I've just got my GeForce2 MX 200 working properly in Red Hat 7.3. Can I just install Unreal Tournament and It will run after some .INI changes or do I need to install Glide as well?

Glide is for 3dfx cards only -- it isn't required for nVidia's.
You installed the drivers from www.nvidia.com -- correct? If so, then you should only have to make minor changes to the .ini file, and it should work. Run it as root the first time, though -- just a warning.

The only change you should need to make is changing the renderer from SDLGL to OpenGL.
The readme will tell you how to do this.

Actually the install program will ask you if you want to use glide or opengl as the render. So if you have the nvidia drivers installed correctly all you should have to do is choose opengl and then play.
At least that's the way it worked on my box and I just installed it a couple of days ago. The installer even puts a shortcut in your kde menu's for you.

What installer did you use? I have the one from Loki.

that's the one. I used the 428 installer I think. you just have to make sure you get the install not the patch.

I've been playing UT in Linux since I started using Linux (one of the big selling points for me ;)) and using GeForce cards. If you have OpenGL setup correctly selecting OpenGL as the renderer is all you really need to do, changing the SDLGL to OpenGL is not nessicery, but a good idea.
Once you get it installed, you'll need to look into the umodunpack program to load all of the wonderful umods out there!
--edit--
A link to the linux umod installer http://umodpack.sourceforge.net/

it does give you the option, BUT the ini file sets up SDLGL as the driver, not OpenGL

SDLGL is ok, but OpenGL is better, particularly if you want to use S3TC. The quality is way higher using OpenGL without the S3TC textures too.

Thanks for all the help everyone!
Now...where'd I put that darn UT GOTY CD?

Be sure you use the GOTY installer or you'll have even more problems ;)

Yes...that's the one that I have. I downloaded it months ago when I was trying to get it to work on my RH7.2/Voodoo2 configuration.
