mp3 ID3 tag editing

Hi,

I know I can find MANY information about this subject on the web or even on this forum, but, in fact, that's the problem : too much information.

Here is precisely what I'm looking for : a good site explaining how this tag works, and how I could change it. The goal is to write a prog which would read the name of the mp3 file, pick information from a database about this mp3 and then fill the ID3 tag with the information.

I'm searching on google and on this forum for help, but there are thousands of results for "ID3 tad editing", I'm on a 56K and that's really slow. So if someone knows a good link about this, please tell me !

But if someone knows where I could find some source code about editing this tag with information from a database, I would be very interested... :)
