since this part of the forum lacks some posts, I'm willing to fill the gap :)
for the record:
NWN is not a D&D game, it's a third edition D&D game. This is a VERY BIG difference. If you think Baldurs Gate 1, 2 and 3 (the add-on) where good games, you DO NOT wan't to buy NWN.
Why? Becuase they degraded everything that made BG 1, 2 and 3 so good (and no, I'm not talking about the fact that you only have 1 character to control) The biggest drawback is the fact that you now fight "encounters". "encounters" are monster, trigger based generated, that adept their skill to your current level. This totally ruins the point of gaining XP points to become strong enough to be able to defeat your opponents. example: you come across a "average" monster = you can win with your eyes closed = boring, no challenge, 'cuase they will ALWAYS be WAY weaker then you. example 2: you come across a more difficult creature = if you're not a melee fighter, the game sets the opponent to strong for you = your hengeman (sp?) has to do all the killing = boring. example 3: you come across a "bos" creature = they are ALWAYS 5 levels stronger then you = if your a melee fighter, you will always lose, except when you cheat... Overall: if you advance too quick, the later levels are impossible, if you advance too slow, you will need half an hour to defeat 1 stupid skeleton. I expected a lot of NWN, but not the impossible. Still, I think BioWare has made some of the best games out there, to bad NWN isn't one of them :(
