Booting to CL instead of KDE

How do I boot up to command line interface instead of Windows Manager (i.e. KDE, GNOME) default for all users?

I've posted the answer to this a couple of times but I guess one more time wouldn't hurt...heheh. Open up your inittab file located in your /etc directory and change the line that says id:5:initdefault: to id:3:initdefault:. Make sure you're root when you make the changes. Then reboot and you should start and cli. Hope this helps.

this works in redhat and mandrake and probably suse, but not as simple if you're running debian. just letting you know since you never said what distro you are using.
