Hello all, it's been a while.

Here's my problem.

Epox EP-7KXA+ Mobo
900 Athlon
128 PC133 Ram
80 GB Maxtor Drive
Voodoo3 16MB Graphics
Generic 52x CDROM

This mobo originally did not support 900MHz Athlons, so I went to www.epox.com and got a bios update to fix that problem.

Booted to DOS prompt and ran the flash program. Update went fine. The next step, according to the readme is to reboot, and enter the BOIS setup to restore default settings.

Well, I can't get to the bios, the initial bios screen comes up, where it says hit delete to enter setup. And there it freezes. I can't do anything. Basically, I'm screwed.

I've posted a support query on epox's site, but that'll take a month probably to hear anything. I've read what I can and can't seem to find anything usefull.

SO, if anyone has an idea that will help me I would appreciate it a lot.

Thanks....

Some mobos have a jumper you can reset the bios with. With the power off, move it to the reset position, then replace in the origional position.

You could remove the battery for around 15 seconds if you don't have the jumper.

Forgot to mention, I did that. I know it reset stuff, cause I had originally had the dram clock set to 95, after removing the battery, it went back to 100.

The same thing happens though.... it posts the CPU info and that's it.

Thanks

Well, support from epox is sending me a new bios chip.... that's pretty cool I must say. I can't wait to get it, it should be fun...

That's certainly good news.

Sounded to me like your only choice.
