When you restart your computer does the Windows XP boot sceen automatically come up without any other options?

When you were installing Linux did it say anything about a boot record?

Try to install it again and let it do its own boot record (that is if you have a choice). And if that doesn't work, You should try Mandrake Linux. Its alot easier to install and use.:)

I installed a version of Corel Linux on a FAT32 partiton a couple of years ago, so I'm not sure this will help. When I had it installed, I had to run it from DOS (Pressing F8 on startup), but Windows XP doesn't have DOS, so you'd probably need a boot CD to do it that way. Once in DOS, I navigated to the Linux directory and ran the .exe file to start it. (Needless to say, I used it for about two days because running Linux from a FAT32 partition is verrrrrrrry verrrrrrry slow)

I had thought about switching to Linux a few years back, and Corel Linux is the one I was looking at. I didn't get it and install it (I didn't know you could buy boxed sets of Linux!), but thats the first Linux I had ever heard of. It was based on Debian, if I remember correctly. Corel is a bit old, so if you want some updated software, look in your /etc/apt/sources.list, and post its contents here...
EDIT: If you got in to it, of course! The installer CD should say something about LILO. Make sure to install it.
