I'm new to Linux and need to know how to install redhat 7.3 with the newest kernel 2.4.19 instead of the one on the cd:s (2.4.18)because I need the Raid support for Promise onboard raid (pdc20276) on my Asus A7V333 mobo. I have read how to install a newer kernel on a running system but how do I get the install to use the newer kernel ?

Best regards / Alexander

Ok, now I think I understand your question. You want to start a fresh installation of Redhat and there choose to use kernel 2.4.19? Well you can't do it that way, you have to install with the kernel that is provided on the CD and then you can upgrade the kernel. Be aware that the latest official kernel from Redhat is 2.4.18-5 and if you choose to install a custom kernel (like 2.4.19) then your on your own :)
