Hi, I have a SiS 650 graphics card, and I can't get any X server to run. I'm not totally new at this, but I dont know alot. I have One NTFS partition, one FAT32 partition, with Corel Linux on the fat32 partition. How do I move the driver from my fat32, into Corel Linux, and install it?

You have Corel Linux installed on a fat32 partition?

What type of file is the video driver?

Did you find any installation instructions from where you downloaded the SiS 650 driver?

Yes I have Corel Linux installed on a fat32 partition.

The type of file is a ".o" file (weird, to me) I got the driver from http://www.sis.com/support/driver/linux.htm and it had no instructions, that I could understand.

Thanks so much for you're help. If you want you can instant message me, LegoJerr on AIM, legojerry@hotmail.com on Msn.

Did you follow the instructions on that site?

cp sis_drv.o-410 or sis_drv.o-402 to /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/sis_drv.o

i.e. for 410

cp sis_drv.o-410 /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/sis_drv.o

Edit /etc/X11/XF86Config and change the driver in the 'Driver Section' to 'sis'.

startx

See ?? Simple... :)

<edit>

X -version

will tell you the version of X you have installed.
