If I wanted to, say, have 2 or more Linux distros on one machine, what mount points could I share between them?

Not sure I really understand the question but you can mount any partition from either linux distro.

Its just as simple as this if you have linux1 running and want to mount the root partition of linux2.

mount -t ext2 /dev/rootlinux2 /mnt/linux2

You should be fine sharing /home, /tmp and SWAP. You'll need to have /home and /tmp on their own partitions. Sharing anything else would probably kill one or both installs.

Excellent, thanks.

I'm thinking of making the jump to Slackware, as Mandrake Linux, even after 2 weeks, has gotten in the way of what I want to do. It seems more like windows.. things crashing and burning here and there

One more Q. Does it store my user in the home directory or somewhere else? For example, if I only put in root for my Slackware, and then typed in my user 'sastraxi', would it work? Or would it complain?

You would need to add that user to the slack (or any other) installation to use that account.

Cool, thanks. And a final question:

Based on my stability gripes, the fact that I'm not a seasoned veteran nor a newbie, and I have a pretty bad system (Celeron 533, GF2mx), which would I want to choose?

SuSE or Slackware?

I've been looking over SuSE's site, and I must say, it looks impressive. Although, I wouldn't mind finding a place to download the ISOs :) All I can find is the non-iso downloads (I don't know what it's called) and I need the isos. Oh well...

I do like StarOffice though, that feature's nice
