Installing Software

Hello Folks,

Im a newbie, ive just downloaded my 1st prog off the net for linux. It opened up in the K package....i think i installed it right... its in a rpm file format. Is there any steps to help me learn how to install properly and how to run the file?

If what you installed is a KDE application, it might have added a menu item in the KDE menu.

If not, either use the File List tab in Kpackage to see where the files are installed and which one is the executable.

Kpackage should have a help file and also you can use the commandline rpm for installing rpm packages.
