Ok, so i'm doing the netinst of debian...i used this iso (http://people.debian.org/~dwhedon/boot-floppies/bootbf2.4.iso) if it matters/you're curious and i get to a point where it wants this file, basedebs.tar, and with the help of Dun'Kalis i got the link to it, downloaded, and burned it to CD....well i put in that cd, in my other drive(i have two; one has the install disc in, and the other contains basedebs.tar) and when it asks for that file i point it in that cd's direction...it's copying files and whatnot but somewhere along the way an error message comes up and it says:
|Base Installation Error|
debootstrap exited with an error (return value 1)
..and then it gives me the option to continue, well i think i have to do this step so how do i go about getting rid of this pesky error? any suggestions are welcome and if you need anymore information about my situation feel free to ask. thanks in advance :D

Well, I have to recommend that you use an official ISO instead of this unofficial one, because I've never heard of anyone having any problems with the official ones. Other than that, I can't help you on your specific error, sorry :(

It's a netinst CD, when it asks for the base debs tell them they're located on the network and it should by default try to get to ftp.us.debian.org (you can change that if you really want). I prefer this (http://people.debian.org/~ieure/netinst/releases/20020626/woody_netinst-20020626-i386.iso) netinst CD (it's a little bigger than the one you are using and has 2.2.20 and 2.4.18 on it).
