[BytE] 08-02-2002, 02:01 PM does anybody know where i can get winex for free? i dont want to suscribe to anything bwkaz 08-02-2002, 03:04 PM Go to their download page, and on the left, hit Download Source Code (or something like that). Agree to the legal crap, and it'll take you to a page with CVS instructions. CVS is the only way to get the source code, and it's also the only free WineX there is. But it doesn't have support for most CD protection schemes, because (a) it's supposedly a highly nontrivial patch to add the copy protection support, although I can't see why it would be, and (b) Transgaming probably can't release source for these schemes; they probably only found out how they work because of some NDA agreement. Security through obscurity  Or, "Don't tell anyone how it works, and it might last longer before being cracked!" Yeah, right. justlinux.com
