Does anyone know why I have to keep resetting
my soundcard every time I play Chromium? The
game plays fine, but I have to go into Control
Center (root; or regular user as root) every
time I want to play it, and 'detect' the sound
card. (I can exit the game & play other games,
or whatever; it's ok until I shut down & reboot,
but then I have to reset it.) This is the only
game with this (soundcard) issue, as far as i
know.

Thanks!:confused:

Are you using KDE or GNOME by any chance? KDE and GNOME use the arts and esd sound servers respectively, and these sometimes interfere with software using oss or alsa sounds.

Try opening up a console and starting chromium with one of the following:

$ esdplay chromium (for GNOME)
$ artsplay chromium (for KDE)

To danrees:
Sorry, didn't work. Anything else I can try?
Thanks!

(I Mostly use KDE)

Also, when you say console, what do you mean?
Is it the same as a terminal?
