Hi,
For several days I was probing to set connectivity with
suse 8 and win Xp with samba. I manage to set up
samba on server linux, but the problem is when I want
to ping my windows Xp Proff workstation, it give me
the host is unreacheable.
my linux server has two eth cards
one is 10.0.0.1 eth0
two is 10.0.0.2 eth1
on windows Xp
one card 10.0.0.3 eth3
with yast2 I routed gateway 10.0.0.1, mask 255.255.255.0
destiny: 10.0.0.3
in win Xp TCP/IP protocol IP name: 10.0.0.3
mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 10.0.0.1
when I ping in Xp in dos is ok: ping 10.0.0.3
because is local host
also equal is in linux: ping 10.0.0.1 or ping 10.0.0.2
with samba when I check is installed ok in linux.
I read several faq but not help me.
Must I installed newest samba 2.2.5 or what wrong I
did. I'm on dsl. When I configured eht0 and eth1 card
I give them static names. Is that wrong or should I used DHCP.
In hosts.conf I give
127.0.0.1 babylon1
10.0.0.1 babylon1 babylon1.MSHOME
10.0.0.3 babylon2 babylon2.MSHOME
You sea my domain is MSHOME
I would be appreciate for any help ...
Bye Jure
