Fujitsu FDX305 USB ADSL Modem, anyone know how I can get this running under Linux?

Is that a Speedtouch modem?

I don't think there is any support. I bought a Speedtouch instead, but even that isn't exactly a walk in the park.

If you really want a good long-term solution, get a Modem/Router from dabs.com - are you in the UK? If so, £68 plus vat, gives 4 network outputs and usb (only windows drivers for the usb), so you would also need a network card. Works brilliantly and is quite easy to set up.

Yeah I have figured that i will need a router to get on the net with Linux :(

You should consider the Alcatel speedtouch.

There is a single ethernet version of this modem that does not muck about with trying to be a router/dhcp server etc.... probably the best solution for your purposes.

I don't know if this helps or not but there are some drivers available for the Fujitsu FDX310.

Where can I buy the Fujitsu/Westell 305 USB modem?
This product is functionally similar to the FDX310 modem, but has been only available directly to operators. We are not offering it to the retail market.



So it seems that the FDX310 driver should work the 305 with no real problems :D
