installing apache

hi there,

i have suse linux 8.0 and installed apache, how do i configure it?
do i need to compile it or is it precompiled?
how do i check what version it is and get it running?

How did you install it? With the distro? If so, its probably precompiled and running already...

Config is in httpd.conf.
Version displays if you run httpd -v.

Make sure you get the latest version, as there was a big hole found recently. The worm attacks FreeBSD, but I've heard it can still DoS other systems if they aren't patched.
