Is there a way to get anti-aliased text and images working with WM's other than the DE commonly known as KDE? (I don't want to hear anything about GNOME because I really don't like it)

Sure, but the app displaying it has to support it. Any GTK app can/will if you define the "GDK_USE_XFT" environment variable (and provided that everything else is set up correctly). Mozilla/Galeon should as well, via the Freetype library (though you have to set some stuff in prefs.js).

Hrm...I'll have to take a look at that.

I heard awhile ago that it was possible to specify another wm instead of 'kwin' for KDE. Do you know if such a thing is feasible? (using enlightenment or fluxbox would be kinda spiffy)

Don't know, don't use KDE :)
But I don't really see why you'd want to use something like E for KDE since E does a bunch of stuff KDE does too ...
