Hey all,
I have a RH 7.3 Box running, that I'm trying to make a web server out of.
How the heck to I install Apache 2.0.39?
I've removed Apache 1.3 from the box with the command
rpm -e "packagename"
and I've also removed any packages that would be broken by the removal of the old version of apache.
I downloaded a .tar.gz file of Apache 2.0.39 and looked at the readme......and that didn't help a whole lot.
I did ./configure and it did a bunch of stuff for like 5 mins, but I still have no apache installed.
I'm lost - Way lost now. It seems so sad that I'm so lost because I'm an MCSE who has been in the Networking/server community for about 6 years. I'm a network engineer for MS servers.
It is situations like this that make guys like me continue to recommend IIS and MS products to our superiors! I could have had IIS up and running and all patched up in the amount of time it has taken me to try to get Apache installed.....I would have been home by now chilling with an Ice Tea!
Man.....I'm so frustrated right now
Any suggestions at all......?????
