Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Mandrake 8.2 Install Pause
Everytime I try to install Mandrake 8.2 it always stops at "Setup Filesystems" part. The mouse can still move, but the menus for the part never come up, and the system just kind of idles. I have let it sit several times now, evne for over an hour. My comp is up to date and my drive is formatted. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

We need a hardware list, what you already have on your drive, and any partitioning already done, please.
As of now, I have nothing on the drive, it's totally empty. I'm on an Athlon 1700XP with 512ddr ram. My mobo is the K7S5A. I'm not really sure what all other hardware you want listed, but lemme know and I'll post.

Are you using the "Recommended" or the "Expert" install options? Usually, the "Expert" works better.
If that's not it, then it could be the CDs themselves. Is this a download set or a boxed set? If it is downloaded, it's possible that one or more of the CDs are bad. This can be checked with the md5sum utility and the md5 string provided at where ever you downloaded the iso images.
It's the downloaded version. I was using the Recommend Install, not the Expert. That might do something. It is not the CD, however. I tried it on another comp and it got past that point. I just installed the Lycoris distro on the comp with the install problems just fine, so I'm not really sure what the problem is. Any help is still greatly appeciated.
