New install of Red Hat 7.2. Chose wrong monitor or video card. Display is small, off-center and vibrating, hence unreadable.
Can I get to a reconfiguration screen from command line? If I have to redo it from command line, where can I find directions? Or is it easier just to do a reinstall?

Redhat has the setup utility which is a selection menu for various things such as mouse, sound and your x config.

Edit /etc/inittab and change your default runlevel to 3 so that you type startx to get to gui.

You will break x several times before you get everything set to your likes and need the commandline.

If you can't get out of x with <ctl><alt><backspace> or switch to a virtual terminal with <ctl><alt><F(N)>, you will have to boot linux 3 <command line>from your bootloader screen.

The command line is your friend. Embrace it.

Thanks for the help.
Since then I just reinstalled 3 or 4 times until I got the video and monitor choices correct. But I wrote out your advice for the next install, which will be soon, if I can ever get a current disc of Red Hat or Manadrake that functions. Something, or perhaps several things have gone south -- possibly my cd burner, definitely the OS in the computer I use for downloading and burning.
