Using Mandrake 8.2, on one computer (Athlon 1Ghz), I installed Mandrake just fine (also installed KDE, Gnome, Blackbox, enlightenment, and a bunch of others).

Anyway, that's NOT the problem. :)

On another computer, (Pentium 133, 32MB RAM, SiS video card), and that DOES NOT BOOT FROM CD-ROM (I have to boot to a floppy), when I install Mandrake:

1. It doesn't give me as many options as when I installed to the newer computer. How come I can't see the options for installing Blackbox and enlightenment? Is it because I'm booting from a floppy?

I'd like to install Blackbox (seemed easy enough to use) or enlightenment. KDE and GNOME are just too slow on that computer.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

hi

Im a newbie myself so I guess reinstall mandrake or use another window manager like IceWM

It is small, fast and easy to use and should come with mandrake 8.2 as it comes with 7.2 and 8.0

Its also with Redhat Linux and many others so try that on your old computer I guess.
