Just upgraded a system not running X-windows from RH 7.1 to RH 7.3. When I went to run startx I got:
"Vidoe mode not supported"
and, otherwise a blank screen. I had to do a hard shutdown/reboot to get the system back up to command line.
This is on an IBM x300 with a supported chipset (S3 Savage); however, the monitor is an APC shared (multiple machines) 15" flat panel display. (It is actually a Samsung OEM monitor.) Any ideas how I can fix this?
