Could someone come to my aid?

I have downloaded the latest apache server, php4 and mySql to install.

I have been working myself out for MONTHS!!!( YES LITERALLY) to get them installed on my suse linux 7.0 professional. I have follwed the instruction given not only by the developers but also from third party sources( books, websites - you name it) but still no success.

I have been using linux for about 2 years now but never really have I been able to do anything useful with it yet.

I have been blindly praising linux nevertheless, and feel it's time for me to stop the lip service and DO stuff with linux.

Please, please help me!!
