O.k. - total noob, here!! I'm running windows xp and want to dual-boot it w/ suse 8.0. The trouble is I have a raid array. (raid 5 on a Promise card) How will I get the loader to boot without conflicting w/ my raid bios? (+which should i use - lilo or grub?) I also have an ATI all-in-wonder video card. Will this give me problems in suse?? It seems like the one thing I have going for me is lots & lots of partition space. Thanks in advance for any help!!!

SuSE 8 will load the correct driver for your ATI card. Shouldn't be any problems there.
Your Promise card is ATA? You should have the latest driver for it? It is sometimes necessary to recompile the kernel to include support for certain peripherals (not always as the latest kernel is fairly comprehensive as it is)
Yast2 is a very good tool to instal with. Better to use it than go native off the bat. You can see what is happening and always 'go-back' if things get a bit pear-shaped. Unfortunately, SuSE are very 'scanty' on incuded literature and do charge you for tech help (after your 90 days). I have always felt that Linux distros should be accompanied by a good hard-copy manual. I am aware of the MAN and How Tos, but a book is so comforting, don't you think?

You could always contact Promise and get their tech support for SuSE 8.
Good luck
