i recently installed fluxbox and i like it alot, i was just wondering how i could get icons on my desktop... i read about Rox... any other options,

also i edited my menu's in fluxbox but i wish i could import them from gnome i was thinking of writing a python script to change the format but i have a feeling that might get difficult, for me that is...

and i realy love having quickstart buttons in gnome, that start: opera, Scite, logjam etc..., can you only do that using the WM little boxes. (i just forgot their name)

Rox is cool, you can also use either of the two Gnome filemanagers, Nautilus [if your machine is reasonably fast] or gmc [if it is slow/low memory]. Both can give you back your desktop icons, just investigate the 'Preferences' menu in either program to allow them to control the desktop.

The 'little boxes' are called 'applets' in WM, 'epplets' in Enlightenment.

Good Luck!
Tim

I have to agree that rox is awsome. It takes a little bit of config and getting used to but it is super fast.
