For some time, I have not been getting email notification for answers to my posting. Today, in a great burst of genius, I clicked on the profile icon in a message I posted, and discovered I still had the old ibm.net address posted.
Somehow, somewhere, I found an icon which said view/update profile.
So, I went and changed my email address; i get notification now.
However, it also forced a new password on me, which I do not want. I thought, heck, when I get it, I will change my password.
Now, for unknown reasons, I can't find anywhere it tells me that I can view/update profile.
And when I click on 'my profile' at the top of the pages, I get:
A banner ad on a blank screen. No my profile.
I am guessing this missing junk is what I need. Is this a bug, or is it me??

Clicking on "my profile" is right - it shouldn't give you nothing but a banner ad. It should allow you to click "View/Update Profile".

It helps to be sure. But, that doesn't fix it. Still bad today. Thanks for clarifying it, though.
So, I guess it is a bug??

It's not a forum bug because I can do it just fine (just changed my e-mail, got a new password and then changed it again). Try using a different browser.

Um, where I live, an internet function that is browser dependent IS a bug, no matter how well Microsoft has brainwashed us all to accept junk. I will try another browser to change my password, but it's still a bug. Thanks for the tip, though.

Well, I'm saying that the code itself works because it worked in at least one browser. I don't know if it conforms to standards or not, but it does work with Opera at least. And we don't have any power over changing it (nor does internet.com).

I certainly agree with that lack of any power to change this. But, I still view a URL that won't run on a reasonably wide range of software as defective, or at least involving very poor decision making by Webmaster. And, I don't feel working with one browser is a valid test of software. Linux sure expects more than one pass for stable status, doesn't it?
There is a small Mexican forum on the Web. He is lucky he gets one hit a month. He installed new software that only works for responses with the latest Netscape version, or IE. I told him, so he added a note that anyone who could not post a response to a posting needed to update to the latest version of Netscape. I call this "BADTHINK". As if someone is going through all the hassle and time of downloading, and risk losing bookmarks, etc., for a forum that gets one hit or less a month. Hee, hee.
