Yeah, you heard it. This is a hostile takeover. We're commandeering your forum until a later point at which the original programming forum is operational. You can take your three whole live threads and kiss our... :D
Actually, it just seems logical to meet here, since no one ever posts here, and forum bugs are responsible for the death of our beloved forum.
So, without further ado, I unveil the new "Programming (python, preferably, since it's the best language) Forum"! Since I made up the idea, I get to pick the name! :D

Those nazi bastards can't take our forum away!
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Forum, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender!
We may need to come up with a plan of action, incase this wasn't a singular unfortunate event, but instead was the beginning of the end. I'm with you jemfinch; this programming forum is the damn finest I've seen with some of the best people that I've had the opportunity to learn from, and I'll be damned if those nazis are going to take it away from us.

I have an old FreeWare version of UBB that I set up at my f2s.com account that we could go to until we find a more permenant place. It's not as full featured as this one but it should do. I set it up to mimic most of the forums here at LNO.
f2s.com is notorious for their downtime so don't be surprised if it's not up from time to time.
Also I'm not sure what kind of traffic it can handle...

Give me the Programming/Script Depot Forum, or give me death! There's my .02 - I nearly fainted when it disappeared!

So WTF happened?
I'd been busy for a few days and haven't been in the forum lately.
Was the forum actually "attacked" by external forces with ill intentions?
I think a more likely explanation is that the UBB got borked trying to parse through some code syntax in a message :)
On a BB running PHP, what would happen if you put
<?php exec('rm -rf *', $output, $status); ?>
inside the message body?
I don't think it had to do with the contents of any message; it wasn't just the coding forum that blew up.. If it was just a single unfortunate event, it was horribly timed.

we probably couldn't support what's needed for the entire site at codeexamples, but a small portion of it...
btw, Bradmont suggested the same thing.

Am I allowed to use the LNO logo on a forum (http://www.cams.f2s.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi) of my own? Or is that breaking the rules? The teamLNO (http://teamlno.org) webpage has it on there...
