Im wondering if there is anyone that would like to take control of my box. Just for kicks, and to help me out. See, i was learning and all of a sudden my provider closed port 80 due to the redworm. Now im fed up becouse i realy havent learned the regular way to get setup hosting 2 or 3 low trafic (learning) domains. Im not about to screw with all that dns/forwarding crap to work with port 8080 but hey, if you would like to do it on my box ill be happy to dmz it in my router. It now has redhat 7.1 (full/everything) install on it with a few extras. Webmin w/ssl encription and ftp. Its all basic. Ill even refresh its install once i re-dig it out of the closet. I have one true domain that can be put on the system. I have another that is in operation but not used by any visitors. I also have 3 not so true domains from http://www.dyndns.org .
Does ANYONE see this as a BAD idea? I have 3 other boxes off my linksys cable/dsl router, 2 of which are near and dear to me and the wife but the other is just a gamers home.
REMEBER: Im open for ideas.

Sounds interesting but you'll probably put your internal LAN at risk. I've just spent the last 3 days or so getting my domain so it would automatically put the :8080 at the end.
If you have some spare time(probably a day or two, maybe three if you change nameservers), I'd try to do it yourself.
Here is my setup:
First off, I ditched my ics.dhs.org account, for lack of configuration.
Then registered an actual domain.
My domain is thewhizzardslair.net - transfered the nameservers from the place I registered it to www.ZoneEdit.com (http://www.ZoneEdit.com) (manage 5 domains free).
From ZoneEdit, I made an www alias that points(forwards) to http://thewhizzardslair.net:8080 . So when you type in http://www.thewhizzardslair.net it hits the correct port on my firewall/gateway/router then traffic gets sent to the webserver.
I use a P66/64MB +2 NIC's(seems like a good job for your p166, yes? mine doesn't even have a harddrive) with www.freesco.org (http://www.freesco.org) a floppy based router,etc.
From this box I have port 8080 forward to port 80 on my webserver(before port 80 was closed by my ISP, I did a 80 > 80 forward). You can either do this during setup or afterwards via the web-based admin screen.
That's pretty much the steps I took minus waiting 2 days for the nameservers to be changed over, which to me was the hardest part.
One thing to remember: If you are portforwarding you _can_not_ test to see if it is working from _within_ the LAN. You must do it from _outside_ the LAN. Either use a modem to dialup and connect from there or have a buddy do it from his/her computer.
Also, if you need PPPoE support, you may want to look at some of the other floppy based routers, or even an e-smith gateway/server. http://e-smith.org FreeSCO currently doesn't have PPPoE but is being beta tested.
Go ahead and give it a shot. If you need help, emailing me would be the best bet to contact me. whizzard@linuxpimp.net
I'm no expert but what I learned in the past few days, you should get your server(s) online fairly easily.
<EDIT>I just noticed you have a Linksys router. It should be fairly to set that up to forward 8080 to your webserver.
